Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye is always so hard for me!  We celebrated the life of my grandfather, Elvis Ray Kinnaird, yesterday.  My grandaddy was an amazing husband, loving father, successful business man, and declarated war hero.  He was a rock in our family.  He was always there to tell each of us how proud of us he was.  He also would tell us he loved us!  Precious words!  I loved to listen to him talk about his experiences in WWII and we all adored his quirky little songs.  In fact, my mom got her love of music from my grandaddy.  I can only imagine how much he is enjoying the sounds of heaven.

The services at the church and the graveside were very classy.  My brother made sure Grandaddy had FULL military honors.  We were surrounded by family from my dad’s brother and sisters to cousins to second and third cousins on my grandmother’s side.  It was precious!  We loved having everyone all around us!  It was a great way to celebrate the life of a man who gave his all daily to his family, friends, country, church, and work!

I miss him terribly!

Here are a few of the images from the day:

enjoy life!

~ellyce margaret is here!!!~

Oh, what sweet joy!!!  I traveled out to spend time with my sister at the beginning  of June.  Amy was having contractions, and I was worried I would miss greeting my new niece as she entered the world.  So, I left my man at home and took off for the west!  We had a blast while I was there.  We chased pigs, watched a ton of baseball (those pictures are coming), and ate, and ate, and ate!  We floated in the pool, went shopping for little sister, and ate!

My sister and Dub gave me one of my life’s greatest gifts by asking me if I would like to be in the delivery room with them.  Oh….my….word!  I can’t begin to tell you how precious that time was to me!

So, without any more hesitation, please meet, Ellyce Margaret Chisum!!!

~Celebrating Ellyce Margaret~

The Chisums have found themselves in the middle of a precious community!  My sister, brother-in-law, nephews, and soon niece have been blessed with friends that adore them!  I am so thankful for these beautiful ladies!  When sister found out she was having a girl, she was too excited.  However, she didn’t want to have a shower because it was her third baby.   Her precious friends insisted on hosting one for her, and we all traveled out to Lubbock to celebrate!  What an AMAZING blessing it was!  We took mom with us and had a blast celebrating Amy and Ellyce Margaret!

Sister’s Baby Bump

My sister cracks me up! She and Dub are expecting a little girl at the end of June! We are elated and can not wait to meet little Ellyce Margaret. Sister had a shower this weekend (pictures in the next post) and so we traveled out to lubbock to shower her with goodies. While I was there, I told her let’s take some shots of that baby belly!

Needless to say, cotton growing country isn’t lush outside, but we took advantage of what we had:  boots, boys, trucks, RV, wheel barrow, belly, and jalepeno pickles (yes, this was one of sister’s strongest cravings during this pregnancy).

Penelope’s First Weekend

This weekend we went to Lubbock to celebrate Sister’s baby shower and Memorial day weekend!  We took our new bundle of fun, Penelope with us.  She is six weeks old in these pictures.  She had so much fun playing with the other dogs and the nephews! She seems to have a very sweet spirit.  We didn’t sleep much all weekend, but it was tons of fun to have her with us!

enjoy!

Keegan loving on Penelope!

It’s been a busy weekend!

Riding back home!

Those are some sleepy eyes!
